So its pretty safe to admit that I am a little late to the Infocus conference/Iris awards debrief party. My tardiness in no way reflects the enormity of my emotions over what was one of the most fabulous few days of my photographylife to date. I initially wasn't going to enter the Iris awards this year (due to all sorts of reasons - nerves, downright fear, being too busy yadayadayada) but late one night (minutes before the close of entries) I bit the bullet and entered some images. This resulted in a last minute printing mission for the wonderful team at Queensberry - who To View More >>

Over the last year or so I have been lucky enough to work with the wonderful Annick from Textstyle a fabulously talented writer and stylist. We have been in homes all over New Zealand that are creative, stylish and fully deserving of the house envy they have envoked in me. I'm thrilled that my photography has been featured in the wonderful Your Home & Garden magazine and I hope to continue contributing to this and other publications. I have to admit to being over excited at each new issue & seeing my images in circulation makes me feel like a child on Christmas To View More >>

This maternity session was so special for a number of reasons. Firstly the gorgeous Mum-to-be is a dear friend of mine, we've known each other since university days & it was a true honour that she asked me to take some photos of this milestone in her life. Being great friends made this a very relaxed session full of laughter & joy! I also got to explore the beautiful Diamond Harbour & surrounds, on Banks Peninsula where Anna is living - I love shooting in new locations, not knowing what is around the corner and it was absolutely stunning (if a little chilly). Not many very pregnant To View More >>

Whilst in New Plymouth recently I took some shots of the Te Rewa Rewa bridge - which is something of a New Plymouth icon. Not one to be held by normal constraints I wanted my images to be different from the traditional (yet beautiful) images that are usually taken. So here they are ... To View More >>

A wee while ago I photographed this sweet wee man & he was such a delight! This is one of my favourite new born shoots to date... the cuddles were delicious too. If you are expecting, or know someone who is - I urge you to think about a new born shoot. Newborns are precious and simply perfect so why not capture these gorgeous fleeting moments! It is best to get in touch before your due date to book your session. New born's photograph best between 5 & 14 days old when they are still curly & sleepy like wee Lucas! To View More >>

I have eleventy million blog posts to write but since I'm new to this whole blogging lark I'm battling to get them all done, I thought I'd start playing catch up from my most recent adventure to get the ball rolling! First of all a massive thank you to everyone that shared & commented on the 150gram images - we have all been humbled by the support given to us (especially the patients). I am pleased to be able to report that one month on both are doing really well! If the images and post start the conversation between just one family that wouldn't have entertained the idea of organ To View More >>

For most people 150 grams isn't very much - its a cup of blueberries, fifteen $2 coins or a large apple. Recently I discovered the true value of 150 grams - a future, quality of life and one of the greatest gifts one person can give to another. 150 grams was the weight of my Mother's kidney. It is now the weight of Dean's only functional kidney. Dean was in end stage kidney failure, dialysing almost daily, struggling to get through every day battling constant pain, nausea & exhaustion and facing the fact that without a kidney transplant he would die. My mother and I had no hesitation To View More >>
